Fresh Semen Shipping Instructions

Thank you for choosing an Iron Spring Farm stallion for your breeding program. The following information will assist you in ordering fresh chilled semen when your mare is ready to be bred. Please note that office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Time. When the office is closed our answering service will take your call and orders for semen after office hours.

Protocol for Ordering Fresh Chilled Semen
Order fresh chilled semen by calling the Farm at 610.383.4717 the day before the collection day. If semen is needed for Monday, you may call anytime Saturday or Sunday. Semen that is collected and shipped on Monday can be used for breeding on Monday or Tuesday. Call Tuesday for a Wednesday collection / shipment; this semen can be used for breeding on Wednesday and Thursday. Call Thursday for a Friday collection/shipment; this semen can be used for breeding Friday, Saturday and possibly Sunday.

If your mare needs to be rechecked by the vet the day of collection then let us know that when you order. We just ask that you call us the morning of collection to let us know whether we should ship or not ship. If you cancel an order after the stallion is collected and we can not use the semen for another client, there will be a cancellation fee.

Stallion's name
Mare's name
Collection day
Address you wish to have the semen shipped to i.e. your home, your veterinarian, etc.

Method of Shipment
If this is a same day air shipment - provide the name of the Airport we should ship to. If this is a FedEx shipment - please provide the destination address, phone number and contact name. Please include the phone number of someone we can contact in case of questions.

Tracking Your Order
The day the semen is collected and shipped out, we will call you and give you the FedEx tracking number or the flight information and air bill number. If you provide us with an email address, this info will be emailed to you.

Returning Containers Attach the Return FedEx label that was shipped to you in the container and then call FedEx for a pick up or drop off at a FedEx center.

Please ship your container back when you have used the semen. During most of the breeding season we ship 20-30 containers each breeding day. Please use the return label and have the container shipped back asap. We will charge a late fee if your containers are not returned on time. The Farm reserves the right to refuse to ship additional semen to you if your containers are returned late more than once or not returned at all.
