Brend’s First American Season is a Winning OneThe eight-year-old KFPS stallion Brend 413 made his first American season a winning one. After qualifying at the summer shows, this fall Brend claimed the Adult Amateur Third Level Championship at the GAIG/USDF Region I Championships. Sir Sinclair Sires KWPN Approved SonCoatesville, PA—Iron Spring Farm’s Dutch stallion Sir Sinclair has sired a KWPN approved son from his very first foal crop--Wesley. This impressive bay stallion shows great promise as a dressage horse and was one of only four dressage stallions approved in Holland. Bred and owned by Stal Wijdewormer, Wesley is out of Serrita V by Havidoff. Sir Sinclair is also the sire of 18 star mares from his first crop. He was the only American-based stallion approved during the testing held in December. Ulbert 390 Begins his American Career with WinsCoatesville, PA—Earlier this summer Iron Spring Farm welcomed Ulbert 390 to its stallion roster. The impressive FPS approved Friesian barely hit American soil before he began winning at Third Level at top shows such as Dressage at Lexington with scores near 70%. Not only is his performance career in high gear, but the nine year old is already the sire of 15 Star stallions and 37 Star mares. Eighty-one percent of his offspring have been awarded First or Second Premie, including Iron Spring’s young Star stallion Jonas ISF who placed second in the Three Year Old Colts and Gelding at Dressage at Devon 2006 against the warmbloods.

Contango Leaves a Lasting LegacyCoatesville, PA—Iron Spring Farm’s legendary KWPN stallion Contango passed away unexpectedly on April 17, 2007. Retired from competition, the handsome dark bay stallion died peacefully in his pasture. He was 18 years old and the only Preferent stallion in North America. Goffert 369 EuthanizedCoatesville, PA—Iron Spring Farm’s popular Friesian stallion Goffert 369 was euthanized Tuesday, February 13, 2007. The Grand Prix competitor colicked and although every effort was made to save him, the damage was irreparable. Goffert 369, known as “Herbie,” was a beloved spokesman for the Friesian breed. Known for his tremendous athletic ability and intelligence, Goffert had a fan base around the world. In 2004, he performed at the 125th Anniversary Celebration of the Friesian Studbook where more than 10,000 fans showed their appreciation with uproarious applause and a standing ovation.

UB40 Sons Rock EuropeIron Spring Farm’s UB40 continues to make a name for himself in both North America and Europe. Two UB40 sons were selected for performance testing at the 2008 KWPN Stallion Keuring held in s’ Hertogenbosch last week.
