Glendale is by the stallion of century preferent Nimmerdor, out of the keur, preferent mare Silja. Silja is by the well-known, influential, Trakehner stallion Marco Polo.
Glendale showed considerable talent as a show jumper during his stallion test at Ermelo but competed in dressage in Holland. In 1993 he was the winner of a dressage competition for approved stallions in the B category.
Glendale was imported to ISF in the fall of 1994 and was awarded his USDF Performance Award Second Level for 10 scores over 60%. He qualified for the USDF Region 1 Championship at 1st and 2nd Level and consistently received scores between 68% and 70%.
