It’s that time of the year–keuring season! For breeders, keurings are a fabulous way to showcase your breeding program and get valuable, professional feedback on your horses. Each registry has their own deadlines and requirements for their keurings. Here are the important dates and information for the upcoming KWPN-NA and FHANA events.
KWPN-NA Keurings
The KWPN-NA website has an entire section dedicated to keuring information, including details on linear scoring, awards, standards and procedures. Foals, yearling, and two-year-olds can be presented for premium grading. Mares and stallions can be inspected for inclusion in the KWPN studbook, as well as for predicates. Riding horses can participate in the IBOP, the under saddle inspection. You can find details on procedures for every category here.
KWPN-NA keurings are held across the United States and Canada. Horses of all ages can be presented at the keurings, but they must be registered with the KWPN-NA. Foals must be at least four weeks old. The full schedule and contact information for each hosting site can be found here.
We will host the KWPN-NA keuring here at Iron Spring on August 30. The deadline to enter the keurings is August 4.
FHANA Keurings
FHANA keurings are held across North America. Deadlines vary depending on location, so check the FHANA website for details. There’s a robust page on the website with the full calendar, handbooks with all the rules and regulations, linear scoring information, awards and so much more. Click here to access this portal.
ISF is hosting the FHANA keuring on October 4.
