Cum Laude and Kaiman were well represented at the 2023 KWPN Championships in Ermelo, the Netherlands earlier this month. Phatilinda Taonga, by Cum Laude, finished fifth in the National Mare Championship and the Approved stallion Ohio, by Kaiman, earned good ribbons in the 4-Year-Old division of the Pavo Cup.
Phatilinda Taonga Earns a 95
Phatilinda Taonga, Star/Prov. Keur, is a three-year-old mare by Cum Laude, out of Jatilinda, Elite/Preferent/Sport, by All at Once.
Phatilinda Taonga finished fifth in the National Mare Championship in August. To receive an invitation to this prestigious championship, first she had to score well at the Regional Championship in Gelderland. This qualified her for the Central Keuring in Gelderland in July.
At the Central Keuring, Phatilinda Taonga received an incredible 95 for her trot, along with 85s for conformation, movement, and posture. She was bred by Stal 104 whose Willeke Bos was the 2022 KWPN Breeder of the Year.
Ohio
Kaiman’s son Ohio continues to impress as he develops. Ohio (Kaiman x Laika ASD by Grand Galaxy Win) is already licensed Oldenburg and Hanoverian. In the final test of the Pavo Cup, Four-Year-Old division, he received 8.7s for his walk and canter, 8.6s for harmony and total impression and an 8.3 for his trot, which tied him for sixth with 85.8. Combined with his first-round score of 84.6, Ohio finished seventh overall with 170.400.
Ohio’s rider, Grand Prix rider Kirsten Brouwer said this on her Instagram: “I’m so proud of the sweetest stallion on earth. I think there is much more possible so I can’t wait [to see] what the future will bring us.”
