Cum Laude

Cum Laude is known for his modern type, FEI talent and willing attitude–all qualities he passes on to his offspring. Where do these genetic gifts come from?

In the first three generations of Cum Laude’s pedigree you’ll find the Grand Prix-producing bloodlines of Apache, Preferent, Krack C, Weltmeyer and Rubinstein I. These iconic stallions are known for producing dressage horses for both amateur and professional riders.

Let’s take a closer look.

Apache, Preferent
Cum Laude’s sire, Apache, Preferent, was a top international Grand Prix competitor and the sire of 27 Approved sons. He represented the Netherlands at the World Equestrian Games and at world’s biggest shows, like CDIO5* Aachen and Rotterdam. He earned the bronze medal at the 2019 Dutch National Championships and finished eighth at the 2019 World Cup Final with an 80.782% in the Grand Prix Freestyle.

Apache passes his international talent onto his offspring. In addition to Cum Laude’s CDI success, Apache has produced 18 Grand Prix horses, including:

Gio – team and individual bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics with Charlotte Dujardin, with scores as high as 89.040%.

Flanell, Elite – team gold and individual gold and silver medalist at the 2021 European Under Twenty-Five Championships, with an 81.955% in the Grand Prix Freestyle.

Gladstone Zee T – the Brentina Cup Champion at the US Festival of Champions in 2021.

Apache is by UB40, Keur, a Prix St. Georges winner and notable sire of eight Grand Prix offspring with more on the way, along with three Approved stallions.

Apache has equally extraordinary blood on his dam-side. His mother, Tolanda, is by the international Grand Prix horse Krack C, the sire of 34 Grand Prix horses and 23 Approved sons.

Pacharel T Preferent/Prestatie
Cum Laude’s motherline is also highly recognized for performance success, producing CDI4* and CDI5* Grand Prix horses. Horses from this line include Equirelle, ridden by Olympian Guenter Seidel, a CDI3* and CDI4* winner.

The Young Rider horses Dreamcat and Cavanillas W are also from this mare line.

Cum Laude’s dam is the Preferent/Prestatie mare Pacharel T. She produced seven offspring who competed in dressage, including two at the Prix St. Georges level and above. Pacharel’s brother, Rapsodie T (by Gribaldi, Preferent), competed in Grand Prix to the CDI4* level.

Pacharel is by the legendary Weltmeyer, the sire of 51 Grand Prix horses and 132 Approved sons. He’s the sire of the international sensation Warum Nicht, the 2007 World Cup Finals Champion with Isabell Werth, and Wie Weltmeyer, Emma Hindle’s 2004 Olympic horse.

Pacharel’s dam is by Rubinstein I, who had 40 wins at Grand Prix before becoming one of the most important sires of all time, producing 38 Grand Prix horses and 113 approved sons.

Some of his international stars include Rohdiamont, Silvano, Regardez Moi and Relevant, the 2002 World Equestrian Games team silver medalist and 2004 Olympic team bronze medalist with Lisa Wilcox.

Cum Laude
All this international blood comes together in Cum Laude, who started his career in the Young Horse divisions. As a six-year-old he scored an 82 in the first round of the Pavo Cup and finished in 5th place. He was also a high scoring crowd favorite at national shows during this time.

From there, Cum Laude continued up the levels, winning several national competitions at the ZZ-Zwaar and Prix St. Georges levels, including freestyles with scores to 78%. He made his CDI small tour debut in 2018 at the World Championships for Young Horses, where he won the CDI1* Prix St. Georges class with a 71.618%. In 2019, Cum Laude advanced to the CDI3* level.

Now, Cum Laude’s offspring are demonstrating their rich genetics. He’s the sire of numerous first premium offspring, keuring champions, Elite mares and, of course, winners in the dressage ring.

His daughter Kalista, Elite received 9.0s on her trot and rideability, 8.5 for dressage talent, 8.0s for canter, elasticity, posture and balance for an 82.5 total score from the KWPN.

His daughter Kynona, Elite, is winning at the Z1 level with scores to 72.80%.

Natalinda, Star/Provisional Keur, finished 5th with an 83.2% in the Four and Five-Year-Old Dressage class at the Horsefood Dressage Talent Final in 2022.

Two of Cum Laude’s sons were selected for the second ring of the KWPN Stallion Show, Please Me and No Worries SL.

And Rosa Cum Laude was the 2021 USDF Breeders Championship Western Series Foal Champion with an 82.412% in 2021. She also received First Premium at her KWPN-NA keuring and was 9th in the nation for Dressage Yearlings in 2022

With genetics from some of the most influential stallions of all time, Cum Laude is the right choice for mare owners with dressage dreams.

Breeding Season Opens March 13 - Cum Laude will be available Monday through Friday.
