Welcome Sir was selected for the KWPN stallion testing at Ermelo. Unfortunately, a slight injury caused him to withdraw from the testing. In 2007, he then went to Germany and took part in the 70 day stallion test at Munster-Handorf and successfully completed the testing to become a licensed Westfalen stallion. Test Scores: Walk 8.5, Trot 7.5, Canter 8.5, Character 9.0, Temperament 8.5.
Judith Ribbels, of the Netherlands is the rider and trainer of Welcome Sir and they have had a very successful career together. In 2008, Judith presented Welcome Sir at the Pavo Cup selection for 5 year old dressage horses and the stallion was excellent in the ring. The KWPN Commission said “Welcome Sir has three very good gaits and has a very elegant movement”. Welcome Sir´s trot and canter received 8’s from the jury. In total, the pair earned 76 points and were 1st place in this selection trial. The pair had many other wins at M & L levels in 2008 and 2009. In 2010 Welcome Sir began Z2 Level and had 2 wins at Zevenaar and a second place at Vragender in November 2010. He is currently in The Netherlands in training with Judith Ribbels. He is competing at 3rd and 4th level.
Welcome Sir’s foals are eligible for registration with the Westfalen Studbook and Register A with the KWPN. His first foals in the Netherlands are modern and long lines and move with a lot of suppleness and elasticity. Welcome Sir is an easy going stallion with an excellent temperament and rideability.
