Iron Spring Farm sits on acres of rolling hills and pastures in Coatesville, PA. Our fields are filled with lush grass, streams and wildlife, along with world-class Dutch Warmblood (KWPN), Friesian (KFPS) and Lusitano horses. It’s an ideal environment for raising sport horses and welcoming our sales and breeding clients.
We also offer a state-of-the-art facility in Wellington, Florida. Each year, we bring some of our young horses to ISF South to continue their training and broaden their experiences.
Since our inception almost 50 years ago, ISF has been a pioneer in the sport horse world. As one of the early importers of European breeding stock, Iron Spring helped expand the American sport horse gene pool. Our development of breeding protocols and our young horse management program have helped North American talent blossom.
By providing proven bloodlines, along with exceptional service, the ISF team helps breeders achieve their sport horse goals. Ongoing expert advice and tools are available so breeders can develop and successfully market their offspring.
In our sales horse program, each horse we offer has been raised to reach their athletic potential, as well as to be a wonderful partner for their rider. We provide transparency on the training, temperament and health history for each horse to ensure an ideal match.
North American-bred horses have ascended to the highest level of sport. We are proud to be part of this success.
We look for stallions who are athletic, rideable horses with exceptional temperaments. They must also be sound and healthy. Every stallion must pass a rigorous exam, which includes comprehensive radiographs, genetic testing and other assessments. He must also reproduce his desirable traits, so we pay close attention to each stallion’s offspring.
Our stallions have produced Olympic horses, a World Cup Dressage Finals winner, WEG medalists, a Para Olympics competitor and numerous US Dressage Finals champions.
Rigorous standards in breeding stock selection have helped us produce more 30 FEI dressage horses, as well as advanced level eventers and international show jumpers. A few standouts produced by our breeding program include Judgement ISF, Crown, an Approved stallion who won more than $1 million in prize money with Beezie Madden; the superstar FEI mare Andorra ISF, Elite, Sport; Ovation ISF who won international classes with FEI World Cup Finals winner Markus Fuchs; and Willow ISF, Sport, Elite, a Grand Prix Friesian mare.
From day one, all of our horses are raised and trained using protocols created especially for athletes and individualized to their unique needs. Each horse is professionally handled and receives proper nutrition, farrier, dental and veterinary care.
All of our riding horses are started by and stay in training with experienced professionals. We provide our trainers with continuing education so they are always advancing their skills.
Buying a horse is a financial and emotional investment, so it's important to know as much as possible about a sales prospect and the people you're buying from.
