FROM THE WINNERS CIRCLE
Andrea Bomkamp – Barn Manager, Iron Spring Farm
On Rhythm ISF:
“She won the champion filly class last year as a foal, and also won the KWPN class yesterday. We bred her here at the farm in Pennsylvania, raised her, all that – she has a wonderful temperament, she’s very easy to do things with. We’re very excited for her future potential, of course with other breeding shows, plus our program over the years has produced a number of really nice performance horses across all sports. She’s a fabulous girl, we all enjoy her.”
On what’s next for Rhythm ISF:
“She qualified for the USDF Breeders Championship classes tomorrow, so she’ll stick around for that. She’ll grow up at the farm over the next few years, and get started under saddle as a three-year-old, then we’ll see what happens.”
On the importance of Dressage at Devon’s young horse classes:
“Devon is definitely its own kind of show, and because of that, the show is able to expose these young animals to a lot of different things. Even if it’s the first time they come and it isn’t a great experience, they do remember that and so next time, it won’t be so bad for them. So it helps set them up for their futures, being under saddle for their new riders, whether that’s in a professional program or with an amateur owner/rider.”
