For the second year in a row, Lowlands qualified for the World Championships for Young Horses, which earned him the OLD suffix. He’s now officially known as Lowlands OLD. This designation is awarded to select Oldenburg horses in sport, including the top 25 world-ranked Dante Weltino OLD, Famoso OLD, Weihegold OLD and Bluetooth OLD.
The OLD designation is given to horses considered good representatives of Oldenburg breeding programs by theVerein zur Förderung des Oldenburger Pferdesports e.V. This organization is associated with the German Oldenburg Verband and is comprised of influential breeders determined to spotlight Oldenburgs in high performance.
Lowlands had a stellar 2022. He began the year with a 9.34% at his first Bundeschampionate (German National Championships) qualifier and continued earning high scores throughout the qualification process. He competed at the Bundechampionate, earning 6th place in his qualifying class and finishing 13th in the final in the six-year-old division. He was also the second reserve horse for Germany at the World Championships for Young Horses.
