Iron Spring Farm’s Approved KWPN stallion Lowlands was named Reserve Champion at the Anemone Horse Trucks Dressage Stallion Competition, M-Level, held at the KWPN Stallion Show in Ermelo, the Netherlands. This honor is the culmination of a series of shows that began in October 2021.

Lowlands (Millennium x Donnerball) received excellent scores on the February 5 competition:
Walk – 9
Trot – 8.5
Canter – 8.5
Harmony – 9
Total impression – 9
Total points 88

“I was so proud of Lowlands,” said Dinja Van Liere, Lowlands’ rider and trainer. “He is in such good shape, so he feels very good and happy! He is getting stronger in everything so he can carry himself more in the trot and canter. I think the medium trot is also getting better and better. Walk is always a highlight.”

According to jury member Monique Peutz, “This stallion shows an elegant frame in the test. The walk is pure and spacious. The trot is light-footed. In the canter he has good rhythm and jump.”

The Stallion Competition is a required and popular event that draws horses from a variety of European studbooks. According to the KWPN, “The Stallion Competition’s goal is to give breeders and stakeholders an insight in the performance capacities of the KWPN stallions. The Stallion Competition is the unique opportunity to see the young approved KWPN stallions in action.” Three semi-finals are held across the Netherlands beginning in October with the final this year at the KWPN Stallion Show in Ermelo.

Lowlands is available for breeding in the Netherlands. Click here for additional information about Lowlands.
