Latino das Faias
Latino das Faias represents the modern evolution of the Lusitano dressage horse, blending traditional breed characteristics with the athleticism required for the international arena. Before his importation to the United States, he established a competitive record in the FEI young horse classes in Europe. He is characterized by expressive gaits and a natural mechanical ability to collect, a trait that allows him to navigate advanced FEI movements with ease and maintain a high level of rideability.
His pedigree is anchored by his sire, the Olympic stallion Escorial, who maintained a distinguished career at the highest levels of the sport. Escorial completed 34 Grand Prix starts at the CDI3* level and above, earning a lifetime average of 70.6% and a freestyle average of 74.5%. His career highlights include competing at the Tokyo Olympics, the World Championships in Herning, and CDI5* Aachen.
This strong genetic foundation is reflected in Latino’s siblings. Through his sire, he is a half-brother to Grand Prix competitors Japao, Lord Plus, and Lord Das Faias, as well as the FEI-level Marques DC and Small Tour horses Norte DC and Nuelo Campline. The quality of his damline is equally established, having produced the FEI horse Irs, a full-brother by Escorial. Latino das Faias offers riders and breeders a combination of proven performance bloodlines and the functional talent necessary for the upper levels of dressage.
