Letter from FHANA

August 12, 2021

FHANA is very sad to announce the 2021 FHANA Inspections will be delayed until February 2022. After extensive discussion with the KFPS, it was determined by the KFPS to delay the inspections until February 2022.

With the increased Covid-19 numbers and the Delta variant, the KFPS did not feel it was safe for the judges to travel abroad at this time. The health and wellbeing of our judges is of the upmost importance to us, and daily travel across cities in two countries would put the judges at undo risk, not only to their safety, but also to that of everyone they interact with on the inspection circuit.

It should be noted that we do have another option for the membership. While we wish it was more, the KFPS has agreed to view video of horses that were entered in categories 5 and 6. This is to help those adult mares get entered into the KFPS studbook.

The KFPS has agreed to a full inspection of all horses in February (schedule to be determined). While we understand this is not the optimal time to be judging horse, this is the next opportunity the KFPS has available. They have said they would take this into consideration while judging the horses.

The KFPS has agreed to see the mares in categories 5 & 6 for entering into the studbook only and then they would see them again in February for Premium and possible up grades. The cost for these inspections will be as follows: $135/video judging and next inspection within 12 months (February Inspection or following Fall Inspection) at no cost to member.

The deadline for video submission registration is Sept. 15 with the video submitted by Oct. 1. The KFPS will be presenting us with a sample video as guideline. All video will need to be submitted to Jason Tice at jtice@fhana.com and he will submit all video to the KFPS in one batch. Video will not be submitted until the horse’s registration papers have been received in the FHANA office.

FHANA will be refunding all inspection entries that have been submitted to date.

We ask for your patience while we continue to work through the logistics of a February Inspection. We appreciate your understanding and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact FHANA, your FHANA Board Member, or your local Site Host.
