Congratulations to Christoph Koschel and Shakespeare, winners of the inaugural Iron Spring Farm Future Stars Performance Series Final. The series is for seven to nine-year-old horses competing in the Prix St. Georges classes at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival. The top horses received a much coveted invitation to compete at the final for $10,000 in prize money.
Koschel, from Germany, and Shakespeare, a nine-year-old Mecklenburg gelding, earned a 74.575% from the panel of five international judges. Shakespeare, by Sancisco, is owned by Carrie and Bernd Schopf. Koschel represented Germany at World Equestrian Games and the European Championships.
Christopher Hickey, with Straight Horse Zackonik, finished in second place with a 72.200%. Third place went to Meagan Davis and Damocles HLF with a 72.025%. Photo credit: Susan J. Stickle
